MotorSportWorld.TV - Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Why am I getting Logged Out Automatically from MotorSportWorld.tv?
Answer: We have been experiencing a problem recently that only affects a limited number of Internet Explorer users - where a local setting in your browser is incompatible with our server security software and our server closes the session when you change pages. This problem does not exist for any other browsers and we suggest anyone having this issue try to access MotorSportWorld.tv with a different browser (all of which are free to download and most work better than Internet Explorer).
Q: What is the difference between RaceFansTV and MotorSportWorld.tv?
Answer: We launched our motorsport video service in May 2010. During the first year, we discovered that many motorsport enthusiasts expected our name to have ¨Motorsports¨ in it. So, we began a project to re-brand the service, which launched in October 2011). The websites are basically the same, although with the new version, we have added features requested by our members. Of course we welcome additional input on our service and hope you feel free to share your thoughts with us by emailing contactus@racefanstv.com (our company name is still RaceFansTV Limited).
Q: Do I have to Subscribe to be able to watch video?
Answer: No. All our video is available for Free on the MotorSportWorld.tv website. However, only subscribers can watch the video in High Quality (3 to 7 times better quality than the Free version of videos). And, Subscribers can watch any video On Demand from this website with less advertising as well as from iPhones, iPads, Roku and other connected TVs.
Q: How much does it cost to Subscribe?
Answer: The cost is $4.99 (US Dollars) or 3.75€ (Euros) per month. You can also buy an annual subscription for 7 times the monthly rate (getting 5 months free). If you subscribe on or after the 23rd of a month, your subscription includes the rest of the current month and all of the following month. If you subscribe on or before the 22nd of the month, your subscription runs until the end of the current month.
Q: I am trying to connect my Roku Device or other TV or Mobile Device and it is not working.
Answer: To watch MotorSportWorld.TV programming with devices other than computers connected to our website, you must Subscribe to those service individually (because of our extra cost and restricted advertising opportunities). We are sorry that Roku and Apple do not allow us to synchronize subscriptions from their Stores with our website.
Q: If I have a Subscription, can I watch MotorSportWorld.tv on any of my devices (iPhone, Roku, and Computer)?
Answer: Unfortunately, subscriptions on Roku, iPad, iPhone and several other devices are not synchronized with the MotorSportWorld.tv website. The video programming is the same across all platforms, but if you want to subscribe to more than one, you must pay the fee on each platform.
Q: I can´t see any video playing.
Answer: There are many potential causes of this (although it should not happen very often), but the most likely is that your office network is blocking the RTMPE (Real Time Messaging Protocol - Encryption) protocol that we use to stream video files to your computer. You can ask your network engineer to enable this protocol. If receiving the RTMPE protocol is not the problem, then please Contact Us so we can help diagnose the problem.
If you are not on an office network and the ¨buffering¨ message continues to display for more than 20 seconds, there is either a problem with your browser, the local network connection, or with the video being played at that time. To try and isolate the cause, try to watch another video on MotorSportWorld.tv to see if it displays correctly after a few seconds. If that does not work, go to YouTube and verify that you can watch videos on that website. Then report what you have tested and the results to us via the ¨Contact Us¨ button on the bottom of each webpage and we will be in contact to try and resolve the issue.
Q: The video I see playing is pixelated or buffers frequently - preventing a smooth experience.
Answer: The videos we show in ¨Normal Quality¨ for free visitors or members (or Subscribers when they are not logged in) is not meant to be excellent. There is a real and significant cost associated with broadcasting video on the Internet and we reserve the higher quality video for our Subscribers (who are logged in). The video quality for visitors and free members should still look pretty good in a modest sized video frame.
If you are seeing very bad quality or buffering, then there is some problem that we would like to investigate further. Please Contact Us with information about your timezone, the name of the video you feel is not playing correctly and we will investigate.
In our experience, some videos played by Subscribers at ¨Medium Quality¨ or ¨High Quality¨ may start with some buffering for the first minute, but then will begin to play better because of the way our network stores the files and gradually pushes the video files to a server near your location. This can take a minute or two.
Q: I don´t hear any sound while watching the videos.
Answer: The sound is initially set to about 40%. You can turn the sound ¨on/off¨ by clicking the volume button at the bottom of the video player. If this does not work, it is possible that the volume on your computer is turned down (or off) - in which case you will need to get that fixed on your local computer. In very few instances (like the Ferrari Challenge, or the 2009 FIA European Truck Championship), the video we have does not include commentary - but was provided only with background noise.
Q: If I don´t like the enhanced video quality as a Subscriber, can I get my money back?
Answer: MotorSportWorld.tv wants every visitor to our website to be satisified (even enthusiastic) about their experience. If after you subscribe you don´t feel the extra features and enhanced video quality is worth roughly $5 per month, we will return your money. All you need to do is contact billing@racefanstv.com and explain why you would like a refund.
Q: I can´t seem to log in, or when I have Logged In as a Subscriber, I can´t see the Medium and High Quality Videos.
Answer: There seem to be some combinations of key strokes that confuse the Memory (Cache) in some people´s computer. If you have Internet Explorer, press the F5 key to clear your cache and try again. If you have FireFox, press Control+Shift+Delete and then ¨OK¨ to clear your cache. The MotorSportWorld.TV platform, has become quite stable, but the Cache Clearing function still seems to work wonders for some people.
