Biography
| Andy Hartwell has been writing about the people in sportscar racing since the mid-1990s. A lifelong New York Yankees fan, he turned away from baseball the year they cancelled the World Series and instead applied his writing and photography skills towards capturing the behind the scenes action of motorsports. Married to Shirley since 1972, they have one son, Christopher, who is married to Andy's favorite daughter-in-law, Kristen. Andy is a professional member of the American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association and serves as the Editor for their newsletter "ImPRESSions", a post he has held for over five years running. Andy's full time career is with a global cosmetics company serving as a Director of Human Resources and Change Management. Andy has little interest in the engineering and mechanical aspects of racing, preferring instead to talk to the drivers, owners, crew members and fans about their experiences both in the sport and off the racing line.
