Overview
| Dusty Times is in its 25th year of publishing all there is to know and report on in the off road racing world. We cover off road racing and rallying around the world and we are very proud of what we do. Our editorial staff is the best in the business, our race and rally reporters are the cream of the crop and our photographers are wherever action is taking place. If you have an interest in off road, whether in buggies, trucks, motorcycles or ATVs, there is only one place to get all the race reports and that is here at Dusty Times.
We report on racing and rally activities all over the United States as well as in Canada, Mexico, Australia and Africa. We utilize as many photographers as possible in our coverage and we report on all the participants, not just the factory sponsored vehicles. We cover the World Rally Championship events which are held in Europe, Australia and Africa, written and photographed by Martin Holmes, THE name in rally reporting and photography on the continent as well as Africa and Asia. Within our newspaper each month you will find many pages of classified advertising; cars, trucks, buggies and motorcycles for sale or wanted, as well as property for sale and job offerings also. Our Happenings section lists off road racing organizations and clubs, their schedules of events and numbers where they can be contacted. The Good Stuff directory lists well over a hundred manufacturers and distributors that deal either exclusively or in part with the off road industry. | History of publication(s) | It was 20 years ago that Jean Calvin decided to put her journalistic talents to work in the off road field, in which she had been immersed for many years. Jean was an ice skater with Sonja Heine, had a degree in English History and was always a competitive person, racing sports cars for many years then turning to off road for some real challenges. Off road racing was very different 25 or more years ago. Cars had 3 to 4 inches of travel and it was certainly an adventure to take off into the desert for a 400 mile run, and with the equipment available you were out there racing for a long time, even if nothing went wrong. But, we digress. Jean founded Dusty Times to give the off road races and rallying the attention they deserved, and to this day Dusty Times is still giving the off road community their moneys worth. We publish every month. We report on over 20 different off road racing groups and we cover rallying all over the world. Our journalistic staff is second to none and we are proud of our status in the off road community and of our heritage as well. Jean passed away in 1997 after a long and varied career in the off road world. Her husband, John, picked up the reins of Dusty Times and is now the editor and the paper continues to hold the top spot in the off road world. We intend to stay the best for all our readers |
